Power & Precision in Demolition: Cutting Beams with Concrete Cutters
In building demolition, the uncontrolled debris flying and noise caused by hydraulic breakers are not always desirable. Especially when taking down columns and beams, "cutting" is much safer than "striking".
Concrete Cutters (Demolition Shears) are the surgeons of demolition, designed to dismantle structures piece by piece.
1. Cuts Concrete and Rebar in One Go
Thanks to their special blade design and immense hydraulic power, concrete cutters slice through reinforced concrete columns, including the thick rebar inside, "like butter", without needing pre-separation.
2. High Reach and Silent Demolition
Used on High Reach demolition excavators, they safely bring down building floors piece by piece. Unlike a breaker, they don't make loud impact noises, only the sound of hydraulic compression. Ideal for urban areas.
3. Breaker vs. Cutter Comparison
| Feature | Hydraulic Breaker | Concrete Cutter (Shear) |
| Action | Breaking by Impact | Cutting by Compression |
| Rebar Cutting | Cannot do it (Needs gas torch) | Yes, cuts in one go |
| Noise Level | Very High | Low |
| Control | Risk of flying debris | Controlled dismantling |
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Does it cut steel structures too?
A: Concrete Cutters are optimized for concrete and rebar. For pure steel beams or scrap ship cutting, we recommend our "Scrap Shear" models with full steel blades.
Q: Are the blades replaceable?
A: Yes, the blades in the jaw are bolted. When dull, they can be rotated or replaced. No welding or hardfacing is required.
