Aftermarket tie rod in OEM quality for the Olimpa OLP5050 hydraulic breaker (Ø108 x 1479 mm). It clamps the breaker's back head, cylinder and front head together under preload. Machined on a CNC lathe from a single alloy steel bar, with no welds or joints. The reduced shank stretches in a controlled way when tightened, keeping the preload.
Nut and washer are not included. Whether nuts and washers are used depends on the breaker brand and model. If your model uses them, you can order them separately from our sales team.

WHAT IS A TIE ROD ASSY?
A tie rod assy is a set that includes, in addition to the rod itself, the fasteners that secure it to the breaker body. Depending on the breaker design, an assy may include:

- Nut (usually a hex nut; upper and lower nuts on some models)
- Washer or lock washer
- On some models a lock plate, bushing or rubber damping ring

WHAT DOES A TIE ROD DO?
A hydraulic breaker body is built from separate sections: the back head, cylinder and front head. Tie rods clamp these sections together under preload so the body works as a single piece under impact. A loose or broken tie rod can damage the mating surfaces and the body.
Other names used for this part include through bolt, side rod, tensioning bolt, tie bolt and long bolt.
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE NOTES
- Tighten the tie rods to the torque value and sequence given in your breaker's manual.
- Check tie rod torque periodically. Loosening is the early warning sign of tie rod failure. The most common cause of loosening is blank firing.
- If one tie rod has broken, replacing only that rod is not enough: the others have carried the same load and are fatigued. The full set is usually replaced and the mating surfaces are checked.
