How to Spot Fake Spare Parts? Quality Control Tips
26 November 2025
Many aftermarket parts sold under the name "Original" or "OEM Quality" in the market are actually made of substandard materials. A fake piston or bushing can ruin your breaker's body (the most expensive part).
1. How to Spot Fake Parts?
- Laser Marking: Original or high-quality aftermarket parts (like HKM) have the part number laser-engraved. It doesn't erase. Fake parts might use paint or stickers.
- Surface Finish: The piston surface should be bright and smooth "like a mirror". Matte or rough surfaces indicate poor workmanship.
- Weight: Weigh the piston. If it is 5-10% lighter than the original, the steel quality is low.
2. HKM Quality Assurance
As HKM, all Rammer, Atlas Copco, and Furukawa aftermarket parts we sell are manufactured with the same heat treatment and tolerance standards as the originals and are guaranteed.
