Hydraulic Breaker Seal Kits: OEM vs. Aftermarket?
The heart of your hydraulic breaker is the piston, but the veins that keep it beating are the Seal Kits (Repair Kits). This is the most affordable yet critical part affecting your breaker's performance. Choosing the wrong seal can reduce breaker power by up to 40%.
Seal Kits offered by HKM are manufactured from special polyurethane and PTFE components resistant to high heat (110°C+) and sudden pressure shocks. So, how do you know when it's time to change the seals?
1. Why Original Quality Matters?
Cheap aftermarket seals cannot withstand working temperatures and harden ("bone-up") in a short time. This creates two major risks:
- Internal Leakage: Oil pressure drops, the breaker loses power and overheats.
- External Leakage: Oil leaks out of the breaker body, causing environmental pollution and constant need for oil refill.
2. Seal Kit Contents & Storage
Our sets, listed as "Seal Kit" or "Repair Kit" in the HKM spare parts list, are specialized for different sections of the breaker:
| HKM Name | Description | Location |
| Seal Kit (A) | Cylinder Seals | Main area where the piston moves. |
| Seal Kit (B) | Front Head Seals | Shock absorbing and dust protection area. |
| Seal Kit (Valve) | Valve Seals | Distributor valve and control mechanism. |
Tip: Store your spare seals in a moisture-free environment away from sunlight and in their original packaging. Shelf life is approx. 2 years.
