HKM DC40 Drum Cutter is the largest and most powerful model in the range, developed specifically for 30–50 ton excavators. With an operating weight of 2,250 kg and maximum torque of up to 30,000 Nm, it delivers high productivity in hard rock, reinforced concrete and mining applications.

The hydraulic system operates at 300–400 l/min and requires 140 kW of power, sustaining high torque even at low rotational speeds. Equipped with 80 picks, DC40 provides uniform, controlled fragmentation and produces a consistent granular material suitable for reuse where site conditions permit.

Designed for heavy-duty conditions, DC40 is particularly suited to tunneling, rock excavation, mining surface work and deep foundation excavation where strength, durability and continuous performance are critical.

A 670 mm drum diameter, 460 mm single drum width and 1350 mm cutting width enable efficient processing of wide surfaces in large-scale mining, rock and heavy excavation work.
